Becht Engineering BT, Inc. provides legal support and forensic engineering services for clients in technically demanding cases. We perform these services through the expertise of our licensed Professional Principals with the support of our staff. Our professionals include Engineers, Licensed Building Inspectors, Certified Building Plan Examiners, and Certified Accident Reconstructionists. 

 

Our firm provided transition engineering support services to a condominium building located on Hudson River’s “gold coast”. A construction defect lawsuit was filed in 2013 by the Condominium Association supported by a multi-practice commercial law firm. The condominium is a six-story building, approximately 290,000 square feet with residential and commercial units. Becht’s inspections uncovered and defined problems in the buildings, including construction defects. The construction defects were the cause of water infiltration and structural stresses, both of which caused additional damage to occur in the building. Additionally, design errors and omissions were putting the occupants’ life safety at risk. We supported the engineering needs identified by the legal team for a successful outcome for the client.
