Additional space was not the main focus on this project. The upgrade of building services was the target. Poor lighting and air conditioning resulted in an unacceptable user environment. Complete revamping of the mechanical and electrical systems was required as well as the addition of a fire suppression system. These new systems needed to be coordinated with the historic structure of a nineteenth century wooden building.
